I did a pirate activity today as part of the lesson (hence my outfit) and decided to bring in Gabe for a few minutes as an object lesson. I'm not sure which of us had a better time. The students had him smiling and laughing the whole time, except, of course, when he had to have his picture taken.
He sure makes a darn cute pirate, if I say so myself!
Here's a picture of the game-board and table I set up for the activity. Sometimes I wonder if it's worth all the work. The kids really got into the reading today, though, so I guess it payed off.
As a former student, it is worth it! Trust me.
